Excerpt

In Sunday's Washington Post, columnist Dana Milbank questions a Bush spokeswoman and a Bush campaign official [third item] about the discrepancy between the campaign's English-language and Spanish-language websites (and decently credited ProjectUSA as the source).

From the column: A Bush campaign official said last week that the missing immigration speech was "a complete oversight" -- and quickly posted the Jan. 7 speech on the English Web site. The Mexican flag remains on the Spanish-language site.

Around the House office buildings this morning, and lasting all day, ProjectUSA will have people handing out "Dear Colleague" flyers consisting of an exerpt from the Salt Lake Tribune's Sept 14 article, "Cannon drums on immigration despite voters."

We'll keep them there until Chris Cannon admits publicly that he lied to the voters of Utah, and that his AgJOBS bill is an amnesty.

[Or, of course, until we run out of money ... please don't let that happen].

The exerpted portion is at right.

The Salt Lake Tribune article is accurate and even toned, unlike the Wall Street Journal editorial Chris Cannon circulated as a Dear Colleague letter among members of Congress last March

In the Wall Street Journal editorial, words like "repugnant" were used to describe some of the brightest lights in the immigration immigration moderates

+== EMAIL OF THE WEEK ==+

When I called Cannon's office on Monday and began stating my objections to Cannon's AgJobs Amensty bill, the staffer screamed, "My dad's career is on the line and it's all your fault." She continued "if you don't like it, vote against him."

She may not know that her father refused an "arbitration" by independent analysts whether his AgJobs bill fits the definition of "amnesty." His opponent Matt Throckmorton was willing, but Cannon refused. The obvious conclusion is that Cannon knows it's an amnesty but wants to continue denying it to his constituents. His fury at having his hypocrisy exposed is apparently shared by his family and staffer Nathan Rathbun, and vented on his constituents.

Because the daughter interrupted me prior to hearing my name and residence as Phoenix, AZ, she had every reason to believe I was one of her father's constituents.

Mr Craig A. Lambert
